Rock!

The things that catch your eye when you're driving a windy road. For instance, up on Lone Tree Road the other day, I saw this huge rock on a hillside. It was quite handsome standing near the top in the late afternoon sunlight.

I wonder how the huge rock got there and if it used to sit among boulder mates. From what I could see, the big guy is surrounded by smaller rocks, which reminded me of a sheepdog tending its flock.

A Southeasterly View of Hollister

This past January, I took this photo from Park Hill. Can you tell where San Benito Street is? See those tall white buildings on the right in the distance? That's Hazel Hawkins Hospital.

A Look at the Diablos from Downtown

I'm always surprised when I see the mountains from Fourth Street in Downtown Hollister, especially when the mountain sides are green. Joyful!

Back Live at Take 25 to Hollister

Hello Dear Readers!

Hope you've been enjoying the great weather—both the bright, sunny days and the wonderful wet ones.

I almost didn't want to come back today. I even wrote a new message to continue enjoying the archives for a week or so. But, then, I started playing with some of the photos I took recently. Giggle. That's all it took to get me going.

Today's photo, rendered in the Photoshop filters, is of the hillside near the Union Road and Highway 156 intersection. Uhmmmm. I love the sight of yellow mustard. See you tomorrow.

Looming Diablos

Don't the Diablo Mountains look like they're sitting right behind San Felipe Road rather than far in the distance? This was taken from Briggs Road, off of Bolsa, aka Highway 25.

Wandering the Backroads

Here's another view from Hospital Road, off Southside Road.  This time, I'm looking northwesterly.

The Last of Autumn

This gorgeous old tree is slowly loosing its leaves. Just think, by spring it'll be wearing new sprouts. Amazing.

The West View from Hospital Road

Not until I looked at this photo, did I notice that water is flowing in the San Benito River. Look at the bottom left hand corner of the picture. Sweet!

Beauty

If I could add a definition to the word beauty in the dictionary, this is what I would put:
beau-ty n.   San Benito County

Santa Ana Mountain in the Mist

Recognize Santa Ana Mountain? It looks nearby in the photo but it's truly far off in the distance. I took this photo from Thomas Road, off of Southside Road.

Cows, Mist, and Green.

This morning I went searching for a picture of water in the San Benito River. Couldn't find one. But, I did find this sweet scene off of Southside Road. Moooo.

Another Lovely Day

It was another gorgeous morning along Highway 25. This is near the corner of Enterprise Road and the highway.

See you tomorrow!

Sparkle, Sparkle in San Juan Valley

At first glance, it looked like a lake. After all we did have a good rain the previously day, but, it was merely the sun's reflection on plastic tarps.

See you tomorrow.

Going Around the Bend

I like this bend on Union Road, the one by Riverside Road. It reminds me that we do indeed live in a rural area, no matter how developed we get. Even, if one day, the orchards and vegetable fields along this bend are gone. Hopefully, that doesn't ever happen. Knock on wood.

A December Morning

The Three Sisters look closer than they are. I took this yesterday morning from John Smith Road near Guerra Cellars.

See you tomorrow.

Autumn Loveliness

Hope you take some time to enjoy the autumn colors between your Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping this weekend. This brilliant colorful tree is on the NW corner of Monterey and South Streets.

See you tomorrow.

Another View of San Juan Bautista

I guess you could say I've been in San Juan Bautista a lot lately. What's not to like there, right?

Have a wonderful Saturday!
