The Hollister Airshow

I forgot to do a follow-up post of the Hollister Airshow that took place a couple months ago. It must've been all that fun in the sun.  What I recall most vividly was the parade of the War Birds. While the local Boy Scout troops stood at attention holding American flags on the tarmac, a B-25 and four fighter planes circled the air several times. As they passed, I couldn't help but think about the type of missions that military pilots completed in these aircraft.

I did write an article about the air show for BenitoLink.com, which you can read here, and posted an album at Take 25 to Hollister Facebook page, which you can view here. To learn more about the Hollister Airshow, check out its website and Facebook page.

Today, I'm hooking up with Our World Tuesday.

Farmers' Market Flowers

I always love the display of bright colors in the flower vendor booths at farmers' markets. How about you?

The Downtown Hollister Farmers' Market is every Wednesday, from 3 to 7:30 PM, until September 24, 2014. It's located on San Benito Street, between Fourth and Seventh Streets. I like how the city closes the main street for the market.  For more info, check out the market's webpage or Facebook page.

Today, Take 25 to Hollister is hooking up at Monday Mellow Yellows.

A Reflection Bonus in a Window

I've been having fun meeting new bloggers and seeing various parts of the world through a different linky party every day of this past week. Dear readers, I hope you've taken the opportunity to check out some of the links as well. Today, I'm hooking up at Weekend Reflections, which is a site where folks share their photos of reflections caught on surfaces such as windows.

When I took this photo, my focus was on the sign, so as to get information about the upcoming The Best of San Benito County Food & Wine on October 26, 2014, which is a fundraiser for the Emmaus House. Upon finally viewing my photo, I was delighted to see that I caught a reflection of sky and The Vault behind me. Also in the reflection is the Husband's head!

The Tomato Cannery at Work

I wonder if the steam coming out of the tomato cannery in town is tomato flavored.

I've "thrown" this photo into the linky "pot" at The Weekend in Black and White. To see other black and white photos from bloggers and photographers around the world, please click here.

A Sunday Stroll

One great thing about the deep morning fog we've been having lately is that as the fog heads back west, it cleans out some of the smog, leaving us with a beautiful blue sky for part of the day.

I took this photo at the corner of Sixth and San Benito Streets on a stroll through downtown last Sunday with the Husband and an out-of-town friend after lunch at La Villa de Jerez. Part of our walk included stops at Bill's Bullpen Baseball Cards & Comics and San Benito Bene. Does it sound like I'm name dropping? Good. Just want to let you know that a few shops are open in downtown Hollister on a Sunday afternoon.

Today, I'm participating in Skywatch Friday. To see photos from bloggers all over the world, please click here.

Moving On Up Amazing Machinery

Yesterday, I posted a photo of a wise-ass tomato plant that decided to flaunt itself next to the tomato cannery. Today's photos are of trucked-in tomatoes being conveyed to their destiny inside the cannery. How the tomatoes go from that truck to the conveyor belt is beyond me.

I'm participating in Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday. The letter "M" is this week's featured letter.

Look What's Growing on East Street

This lone volunteer tomato plant is growing up through the sidewalk on East Street, right next to the tomato cannery. Ha!

I'm taking part in ABC Wednesday. This week is the letter "E" as in East Street.
