Looking south from the corner of Industrial and Gibbs Drives. See the wall. That runs along Highway 25 between Hillcrest and Sunnyslope.
Hollister, California is a real town that has been around since the 1870s. Unlike the fictional town created by a corporate clothing company, Hollister is no where near a beach. The town is about 45 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Seagulls occasionally make their way over the mountains. Hopefully, they are able to find their way back.
This perspective is quite magical, like there is a castle on the hill.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! Some time in the future you will be standing in that same location and it will be blocked by some building.
ReplyDeleteNotice the hill top in the backround with the two fake trees (cell towers)? That hill was formed by our famous Calaveras Fault and is made of a large boulder (or hard ground) being pushed up (squeezed up) by the fault that runs directly under this area. Cool
Oceangirl, that's what I thought, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteZachary, thank you. I didn't know that about the trees or that the hill runs over the Calaveras Fault. Definitely cool.
