Sparkling Sparkles on San Benito Street

Have you driven or walked through the sparkling lights of downtown Hollister yet? Photographs do not do the sparkle justice. We can thank the Hollister Downtown Association for making San Benito Street look so festive after nightfall. So, one, two, three. Thank you, Hollister Downtown Association!

FYI: Drapoel, Penny Wise Drugstore, San Benito Bene, Serendipity Gifts, and other shops downtown will be open both Saturday and Sunday. Bertuccio's out on Highway 25 and Union Road always is open on the weekend. That's a good source for local food gifts, too. If you need addresses and Web sites for Hollister shops, go to this page and scroll down to the links.

A note to FCC: I keep telling you, I'm not being paid or given stuff to mention local businesses. I just like them and the people who own and work there. I want them to do well, because I want to keep buying stuff there.

  1. Su-sieee,
I love your stories about Hollis.... the stores, the Christmas lights, the events. Small towns appeal to me. I've had to live in large cities for a portion of my life but as soon as my husband died, I knew I'd spend the rest of my life in a hamlet .... well as long as it had a health food store. Although with amazon.com, one can send away for all the health goodies, too. Sometimes I disgust myself because I order so much from Amazon but it's so easy... just a click.

Enjoy your lights and your Christmas. Many blessings to you, the Mama, husband and kitty. (Forgot her name)

  2. Thanks, Manzi. I'm glad you enjoy reading about the area from far away Montana. :-) We finally have a very good health food store in San Juan Bautista, which is just a few miles away. Beats the long drives to Santa Cruz, though I must confess we will drive there once a month for Molly the kitty Cat's raw food. I think I should learn to make it myself sooner rather than later. Merry Christmas to you.
