Hollister, California is a real town that has been around since the 1870s. Unlike the fictional town created by a corporate clothing company, Hollister is no where near a beach. The town is about 45 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Seagulls occasionally make their way over the mountains. Hopefully, they are able to find their way back.

100 Things I Like: The Farmers Market
Today is Farmers Market Day in Downtown Hollister, from 3 to 7 p.m on Fifth Street. Only three more market days left until next year.
Yes, I know this isn't the most flattering shot of the market. I just like the way the Granada Theater sign sticks up above the canopies.

No farmer's market in Autumn? :(
ReplyDeleteOur local farmer's market goes until the week before Thanksgiving. Autumn is my most favorite time to attend!! That is where I saw my first blue pumpkin and thought I'd died and gone to Heaven!!

oceangirl, nope. We have a seasonal market. It's slowly growing and becoming popular so who knows, maybe down the road it may become full-time.
ReplyDeleteWendy, thanks for dropping by. I'd be in heaven too with a blue pumpkin. I wonder how it got blue.
