Here's another cool view of Santa Ana Mountain from Third Street in historical downtown Hollister. The mountain looks nearer than it really is. Though I suppose it actually is since the road near the base of the peak is about 9 miles away.
Hollister, California is a real town that has been around since the 1870s. Unlike the fictional town created by a corporate clothing company, Hollister is no where near a beach. The town is about 45 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Seagulls occasionally make their way over the mountains. Hopefully, they are able to find their way back.

A Downtown View of Santa Ana Mountain

Thanks. I suppose we could be called a mountain town, even though were nearly 300 feet above sea level. We are surrounded by mountains. Hmmm. I like the thought of it.
DeleteI love California because every where you go, you can almost see the mountain view. This is a beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteThank you. When I was growing up in Hollister, I thought our mountains were hills. lol
