Someone once told me that he knew I was a native of California because I described the summer hills as being golden. Not brown. Not yellow. But, golden. Because they are.
This golden scene is off of Airline Highway, also known as Highway 25, as in Take 25 to Hollister. It's just a few miles south of Hollister, in which you'll find none of those Abercrombie & Fitch's Hollister Co. stores. Thank goodness!
I'm hanging out at Mrs. Nesbitt's ABC Wednesday. Come join me by clicking here.
Golden sounds just right, Su-siee. :)
ReplyDeleteI did think that the clothing line had a Hollister, CA connection. :D Now I know.
Good, D.Nambiar. :-)
DeleteHi Su-sieee Mac, love your name. :) The field looks very golden to me too. I hope the drought has not affected your area. My friend lives in LA and it is so dry there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Jeanne
Thanks, Jeanne. The drought is bad here, too. Hopefully, we'll have a more than normal rainy season. If not, then rain. As much as Mother Earth will give us.
DeletePretty Golden hill!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it look like it would feel soft and tickly, like a duck's fur, if we were to rub our palm over it?
DeleteThat is really very pretty and golden!! Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteAnn
Well, it is the gold rush state, so there it is.
ReplyDeleteROG, ABCW
hahahha
DeletePerfect word for it...thanks for dropping by my blog! Have a golden week♪
ReplyDeleteYou too!
DeleteCan tell that you're partial to Calif.! I personally would call this raw sienna, since gold leans more to yellow:) but the pic is heartwarming!
ReplyDeleteRaw sienna. I like the sound of that. Have no idea what that color is. I'll go look it up, thanks!
DeleteI love that color! I'm glad you mentioned it, Jeannette.
DeleteI agree with you ! It looks more gold then yellow !
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, is does look like gold.... wonderful!
