Farm work is back breaking intensive labor. I appreciate the men and women who are willing to do these jobs. Day in, day out, regardless of the weather.
Hollister, California is a real town that has been around since the 1870s. Unlike the fictional town created by a corporate clothing company, Hollister is no where near a beach. The town is about 45 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Seagulls occasionally make their way over the mountains. Hopefully, they are able to find their way back.

No doubt like here they are migrent workers getting paied a pittance
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure. Now and then you find farmers, usually organic farmers, who pay their workers a living wage. Best of all, they don't think of them as "cheap labor". How I dislike that term!
