Several times each year, San Benito Street gets closed for a few hours for a parade. In at least three parades, we can count on seeing bikers take part—the Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo Parade in June and the Veterans Day Parade and the Lights on Celebration Parade in November.
Hollister, California is a real town that has been around since the 1870s. Unlike the fictional town created by a corporate clothing company, Hollister is no where near a beach. The town is about 45 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Seagulls occasionally make their way over the mountains. Hopefully, they are able to find their way back.

Love it! If I remember Hollister goes way back as a haven for bikers. Didn't Tom Wolfe even write about the event in his book of short stories The Electric Col Aid Acid Test?
ReplyDeleteI never read his short stories. Gotta go find me a copy of his book now.
