Drive the length of the Highway 25, from beginning to end, and you'll easily understand how agriculture is--and has always been--a major industry of San San Benito County. Thank goodness for irrigation.

DeleteAgriculture is pretty big on Maui too... lots of sugar cane and pineapple fields.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time the Daddy worked the sugar cane fields over there. I don't know about the pineapple.

ReplyDeleteI was born and raised in Southern California. Not as much agriculture in the area I lived, yet irrigation was a vital part of our existence there.
